Challenges

  • Management of two independent, highly complex accreditation processes—NCATE (national) and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (state)—that require ongoing faculty collaboration, transparency, and communication
  • School of Education had not yet established a culture aligned with state and national “accountability and transparency” movement
  • Faculty had little to no prior accreditation experience
  • Paper-based system for data collection across multiple campuses over 260 miles apart

Solutions

PLNU selected Taskstream to:
  • Build a system for unit-wide assessment connecting all four campuses electronically
  • Provide instant access to all of the required templates specific to CalTPA and NCATE accreditation requirements
  • Transition to a fully electronic system to document the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required for state and national accreditation
  • Support the management of a highly detailed timeline of required tasks over multiple years
  • Provide easy-to-generate reports and the ability to post them in an electronic exhibit room
